Nicole Leon from our Dadeland campus has been named one of five finalists for the 2027 Florida Teacher of the Year, an extraordinary and well-deserved honor. The state finalists were selected from 74 district teachers of the year across Florida, and the 2027 Florida Teacher of the Year will be announced in July.
Nicole is deeply respected by students and colleagues alike, not only for her excellence as an educator, but for her wisdom and the genuine love she shows her students each day. She has also invested deeply in her colleagues, coaching and supporting many teachers and helping them grow as teachers.
In her classroom, Nicole sets a high academic bar, and students consistently rise to meet it. She challenges them to think deeply and to take real ownership of their learning. At the same time, she is just as intentional about who they are becoming, helping them grow in responsibility, respect, and character along the way.
She has helped shape the culture of our school in meaningful ways, and this recognition reflects the lasting influence she has had on so many within True North.
We are incredibly proud of Nicole and grateful to have her as part of the True North family. Please join me in congratulating her on this remarkable achievement.
Congratulations, Nicole. This honor is so well deserved. Please take time to read this great article written about her.
