True North Classical Foundation

True North Classical Academy schools are dedicated to forming students in the pursuit of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty through a rigorous classical education.

Our schools provide the highest levels of academic excellence while cultivating habits of character, virtue, and responsibility.

Although True North schools are public charter schools and receive state funding, that funding alone does not cover the full cost of delivering the education our students experience each day.

Unlike district public schools, True North schools do not receive taxpayer-funded school facilities. Instead, the True North schools must lease and build our own facilities. This is just one of the reasons for the gap between public funding and the true cost of operating schools.

The Community Investment Fund helps bridge the funding gap and enables True North schools to provide education in fulfillment of our mission.

Your Investment in True North

Families are asked to consider contributing $1,500 per student each year to the Community Investment Fund. While this amount does not fully close the funding gap, the collective generosity of our families, grandparents, and friends helps create the excellence that defines a True North education. Together, these contributions allow the schools to remain faithful to their mission and continue serving students at the highest level.

What Your Contribution Supports

Community Investment Fund contributions directly to support the excellence of education of True North students. These investments help the schools:

Recruit, support, and retain exceptional teachers
Maintain smaller class sizes that allow for individualized attention
Offer daily instruction in art, music, physical education, and foreign language
Sustain a rigorous classical curriculum rooted in the great works of our civilization
Provide a private school caliber education at no cost to families

Why Community Support Matters

There is a material difference between the funding True North schools receive and the resources available to traditional district schools. Miami-Dade County Public Schools receive taxpayer-funded facilities and additional funding to maintain those properties. True North schools do not receive buildings or property from the district.

Instead, the Foundation must lease facilities and finance long-term improvements to ensure that students learn in facilities that support excellence. As a result, district schools often have hundreds of thousands of dollars more each year available to invest in teachers, curriculum, and classroom instruction.

In the past, generous supporters, start-up grants, and fundraising events have helped offset this difference. As the True North network continues to grow and invest in its schools, the support of our community is essential.

Why Classical Education

True North schools follow the classical tradition of education, which seeks to develop the whole person.

Students encounter the great ideas, literature, history, and scientific discoveries that have shaped our civilization while also developing habits of discipline, curiosity, and moral character.

This approach respects the stages of child development and encourages students to pursue truth with clarity of thought and strength of character.

The goal is to graduate young men and women with excellence of intellect and strength of character, prepared to live lives of integrity, courage, and conviction.

"The very spring and root of honesty and virtue lie in good education."
